In Genius: Unternehmen Physik, your role is to become a inventor-entrepreneur like Siemens, Edison or Daimler by creating your own industrial empire. To do so, you have to build a town, streets, factories, labs. And manage all of your company's needs (budget, employees.). You start with a small bicycle shop somewhere in the outskirts of Berlin, London, Detroit or one of the other five location the game offers, and the time is the 100-year frame from 1850 till 1950. While playing, you witness all the great inventions in those 100 years, from steam and petrol engines to X-rays.
The game is a complex simulation of the whole process, but also offers a lot of educational knowledge, which is delivered in an entertaining way through the game mechanics. You can read newspapers and even correspond with the geniuses of those times.
