This was a GREAT reference for setting up servers and transitioning from Server 2008 R2 to Server 2012. There are so many tips tricks and just plain good instructional information in this and other books in the series that they become a must for any I/T person working on live systems whether in a large organization or a single person I/T department with one to many servers. I used this for a school running 5 servers, 12 smart switches 14 A/P's and over 190 computers for Administration, teachers and students. Even though I'm no-longer at the school, I still refer to this book for technical questions that arise.

This served as my introduction to Server operating systems in general, so there were times when it seemed to take for granted that I had experience in previous versions of Windows Server operating systems.

This book is not for the non-techie, non-experienced individual unless you're willing to invest some time researching the concepts for yourself to supplement the book. With that said, this is a very thorough explanation of the operating system and seems to cover the subject rather extensively and in great detail. I'm 23 pages into the book, and on every page there has been some glaring error, from randomly misplaced punctuation to sentences so poorly written I have to read them multiple times and guess what they were trying to say. It looks like it got a quick one-pass proofread before going to the press. The hallmark of the Unleashed series is that they work with beta versions of the software and try to give a real-world, experienced account of using the software in a production environment.
